What is Lumbar Spinal Stenosis?

Lumbar spinal stenosis is a narrowing of the spinal canal in the lower back, which is known as the lumbar region. This pathology usually occurs when bone, tissue, or both grow in the openings of the bones of the spine, compressing and irritating the nerves that enter and exit the spinal cord.

Depending on the severity of the compression, symptoms can range from pain, numbness, weakness, and cramping in the lower back, legs, feet, and buttocks.

The Vertiflex™ Procedure

The Vertiflex™ procedure intended to provide the same relief you experience when sitting down or leaning forward. The spacer (available in different sizes to fit your anatomy) reduces or eliminates the pressure on the nerves caused by LSS.

How does it work?

The Vertiflex™ procedure is a safe, minimally invasive treatment that has been clinically proven to provide long-term relief from pain associated with LSS. It uses a small, H-shaped implant that creates a space for nerves in the spinal canal. General anesthesia is not required and there is minimal recovery time, meaning patients are likely to go home the same day of the procedure.
