We don’t manage pain. We treat it.

What is Radiofrequency Ablation?

Radiofrequency ablation is a minimally invasive, non-surgical procedure that uses a heat lesion to ablate the nerve and interrupt pain signals to the brain. The procedure usually takes less than an hour and patients are able to go home the same day. The targeted nerves still function, they’re just unable to transmit pain sensations.

Nimbus Radiofrequency Ablation

Nimbus provides a large volume lesion, which removes the uncertainty of treatment with the goal to provide a better result. Nimbus is routinely used for treatment in the shoulder, lumbar and thoracic spine, SI joint, knee, and other areas of the body.

What Makes Nimbus Radiofrequency Ablation Different?

Like other radiofrequency ablation procedures, Nimbus disrupts pain signals. Unlike other radiofrequency ablation procedures, Nimbus circulates water through the probe at the same time the nerves are being heated. This creates a larger treatment area that leads to better long-term pain relief and ensures that pain-transmitting nerves being targeted are not overheated. This method protects the surrounding muscle tissues from side effects like inflammation. Nimbus is simply a better version of a proven pain-relieving procedure.

Why Choose Nimbus for Pain Relief?

Nimbus cooled radiofrequency ablation is a minimally invasive, low-risk procedure that delivers effective pain relief without the unpleasant and potentially harmful side effects of prescription narcotics, and without the risk, downtime, and recovery time of major invasive surgery. Nimbus provides effective pain relief in an outpatient setting, with fewer risks and side effects of alternative treatments for chronic back pain. Nimbus:

  • Provides pain relief that begins about a week after treatment and usually lasts about a year
  • Leads to significantly improved mobility
  • Is non-addictive
  • Requires no hospital stay
  • Requires no general anesthesia

How it works

  • $A thin needle is inserted into the area where pain is felt; x-rays will help the doctor pinpoint the area
  • $A microelectrode is inserted through the needle; the doctor will then perform sensory/motor tests to ensure safe placement
  • $Small radiofrequency signals are sent through the electrode to heat the nerve tissue

Pain relief can last up to 12 months

Non-surgical procedure; patients go home same day

Regular activities can be resumed the next day after procedure
